Leadership
The South Carolina Free Clinic Association is governed by a Board of Directors, and its daily operations are carried out by an extremely talented and dedicated part-time staff member.
Board of Directors
President -- Cindy Perry, executive director of the Good Shepherd Free Medical Clinic of Laurens County. An accomplished musician, Cindy is a church organist in Clinton.
Vice President/President-elect -- Suzie Foley, executive director of the Greenvile Free Clinic. Suzie brought extensive United Way experience to the position when she assumed the helm at the Greenville clinic.
Secretary/Treasurer -- Dennis Coker, executive director of The Free Medical Clinic, Inc. in Columbia.
Upstate Area Representative -- Georgia Vaughn, executive director of St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic in Spartanburg.
Midlands Area Representative -- Kaye Allen, executive director of Mercy Medicine Clinic in Florence.
Low Country & Coastal Region Area Representative -- Dr. Frank Bowen, executive director of the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic on Hilton Head Island.
Past President -- Susan Surratt, executive director of the Smith Medical Clinic at Baskerville on Pawleys Island.
Staff
Amanda Berrier is the executive director for the association. With experience in various non-profits for many years, she comes to the association from First Steps.
Karen Papouchado is the contracted systems developer for the Association. A former member of the Aiken City council, Karen coordinated Growing into Life, Aiken County's task force that successfully reduced infant mortality by half in the 1990s. She served as an Aiken County Deputy Coroner from 2001-2004. Karen manages data and communications as well as administrative duties for the Association.
