Rural Leadership Grant Opportunity

The following is an announcement from Graham Adams, Chief Executive Officer South Carolina Office of Rural Health

What would it take for South Carolina’s rural communities to be able to address the root causes of poor health?

We think the answer is greater investment in rural community leaders, including nonprofit leaders.

For the past two years the SC Office of Rural Health along with our colleagues at the BlueCross BlueShield of SC Foundation, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, have been on a journey thinking about and learning how to best address the root causes of poor health in rural communities.

Our work to date has made us more certain than ever, that “people” are where we need to invest. We need to ensure they have the knowledge and skills they need to support and lead their communities.

On behalf of my colleagues, I am delighted to share with you an exciting opportunity to do just that in rural South Carolina. Introducing the Blueprint for Health program… with a Request for Applications available to rural communities in select counties who seek to strengthen their local leadership and engage in capacity building to create a vision, or a “blueprint” for health in their community.

To join the journey apply by November 17.
